by Pierre Abidi

Taking as a point of departure certain currents of Reza Negarestani's seminal Cyclonopedia, BLACKSUNGLASSGOD explores the violence of heterosexuality & the family-unit through an almost fable-like narrative of desert violence. Voiced through the eyes of a young girl, Abidi explores the limits of taste and language that present themselves in the severe fantasia of an hypnotic fugue. The exchange of power is played out as if on the turf of a childhood playground, only in this narrative the stakes lie beyond humiliation, closer to death. Like the penetrating heat of the sun, BLACKSUNGLASSGOD collapses into the glass tomb of god a necessity to always push forward.
